Today's episode is a special one. On November 1, 2023, Robert Montgomery Knight passed away at the age of 83. Knight was the head coach for the Indiana Hoosiers from 1972 to his firing in 2000. He as we know won three national titles, was a 20-time Big Ten Champion, and won the 1984 Olympics with Team USA amongst his other notable accomplishments. He also coached at Army at West Point and at Texas Tech. This death has now changed the course of the college basketball season, and this special is about him.
At the end of this episode, I will share a family story from 1975 when my uncle got Knight's car out of the water in Alfordsville after a night drinking. All told and more on this special podcast.
